What things to do in Paris other then visiting main tourist sites?

Hi,

I’ll be going to Paris for two days on Monday. I’ll be staying in a hotel close to the Eiffel tower. The thing is, my friend and I have already been to the main museums and been on the tower and don’t want to spend that much. We want to go to traditional French markets, have nice French meals and things like that or go to nice shopping centres. I’m Googling but just find the main tourist attractions.

Can you suggest things do do in Paris other then visiting the main tourist attractions.

Thanks

just walk around and you’ll find things. Exploring is the most exciting part of visiting a city, especially one as beautiful as Paris. Lounge in cafes, wander down the little streets of the Latin Quarter and just soak up the atmosphere.

Paris is lovely! I would personally do some christmas shopping in the malls, if I where you! If its open, disneyland is always good, though its quite a while away, about an hour, but its worth it, if you like that thing. In the town you’ll find cute coves of hidden away resteraunts to suit whatever you want to eat. As for markets, i’m not sure. If i where you, just explore and see wherever your mood takes you! Have fun :)

    Hi,

You can walk through what we call in French "Passage". It is very pleasant.
Ex : Passage Verdeau, Accès par le 6, rue de la Grange-Batelière et le 31 bis, rue du Fbg-Montmartre. Paris IX e . Mo Richelieu-Drouot , you will find there antique,
Passage Jouffroy, Accès par le 10-12, boulevard Montmartre et le 9, rue de la Grange-Batelière. Paris IX e . M o °Richelieu-Drouot. , built in 1845, you will find there the atmosphere of this time.
Passage Brady, Accès par le 43, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin et le 46, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis. Paris X e . M o Château-d’Eau., or the little India
    etc..

I love Le Petit Journal, a jazz club and restaurant across the boulevard from the Jardin de Luxembourg.
Either climb to the top of Notre Dame or up the steps of Sacre d’Coeur for the best views of the city … without having to do the crowded and exorbitant ride to the top of Eiffel’s mistake. (Some good bargin shopping in the streets at the foot of Sacre d’Coeur, too.)
Go to the free Sunday organ concert at Saint Sulpice, walk the Jardin de Luxembourg and the Tuilleries.
Stop for drinks, shopping, and people watching on the Champs-Élysées. Visit the famous graves at Père Lachaise cemetery.
And spend every evening at a sidewalk cafe or restaurant for wonderful food and drink.

    Also:
Wander around the Marais section right next to Place de Bastille. It’s full of lovely quaint streets and shops. Visit St. Paul’s church. Go to the Picasso museum! Go straight down Rue de Rivoli to the Louvre! Go north to the famous Pere Lachaise cemetery and the Canal Saint-Martin. And definitely spend some time in Place des Voges.
The Musée Carnavalet is also there: a museum of the history of Paris itself.
There’s also a big opera house there, but they are a bit expensive in Paris.
Get a pack of 10 Metro tickets for a little under 12 Euros and you can go just about anywhere in the city!
Have a piece of luxurious chocholate at Jadis et Gourmande in 39, rue des Archives.
