http://www.CallingMyOwnShots.com MLM prospecting used to be a real pain in the butt. Not only were the methods difficult and unnatural, they were impossible to teach to your downline with any duplication at all.

Let’s face it: Not everybody is cut out for approaching strangers, striking up a conversation, and doing a business presentation in Walmart parking lot.

Attraction marketing didn’t exist in those days, at least not for the beginning network marketer. MLM recruiting meant calling up your friends and family.

Hopefully, some would be supportive enough to buy some of your stuff.

Another MLM recruiting technique used in those days, and still used by some today, is calling people from a list you purchased. This is what most marketers think of when they think of MLM prospecting.

The main problem with this is that these lists are sold multiple times, and usually by the time you call these numbers, your prospect will have already been pitched more than once.

Today, the only kind of MLM prospecting methods that educated marketers use are those that fall in the category of attraction marketing. Let me explain why.

In the old days of MLM prospecting, you had to go out and get people to join your business. Unless you had a lot of money for advertising, attraction marketing was probably out of the question.

Also, people in those days were more naive. In your MLM prospecting, you could say things like, “This is the best product ever because . . .” and get away with it.

People today are numb to this kind of advertising. Today, the key word is “Positioning.” This means knowing who your target market is and making it easy for them to find you.

The last three words are very important, “to find you.” These are the techniques taught by Ann Sieg and Mike Dillard.

We don’t chase people, or beg them to join our business. We provide them with valuable content, establish relationships with them, and trust that they’ll approach us about our business if it’s right.
