mlmers and network marketers do think calling leads is out dated?
I hear from some trainers that say calling leads is best way to build your business others say its its outdated and there are more effective ways to market. what do you think . If you are successful how do you promote your business. . I believe that success is based on how well you present your product or service and market it not on the product or service itself and also if the person you are promoting to can see an effective way to market and present what you have to offer.
To be honest this would very much depend upon what business you are running. There are no rules of business at all. You’ve got a job to do, and it’s important to figure out how to do it on a task-by-task basis. The basic goal of businesses is to help customers. How do you help people? Is a phone helpful intrinsically, or is it counterproductive. It all depends upon what you’re doing, and how you do it.
Yahoo for example don’t ever call people. Nor do google. The telephone in today’s world is but one of the communications media available to you. I have personally banned phones for my work, I work via email, and set up a face-to-face meeting if we really need to thrash things out. The phone is a massive interruption, and a waste of time, and breaks my concentration.
Sometimes face to face isn’t practical. Email is seriously useful. I also use IM or videoconference a lot where it’s international, say if I need to conference with New York, London and Hong Kong.
The problem with the phone is that it requires people to devote their attention to you *right now* in real time, but yet the phone is a pretty useless visual communications medium. Maps won’t go down phones, nor will pictures. That is not ideal, really. Phones are often a counterproductive waste of time in the 21st century, we’ve got a multimedia data network.
Some people really like phones though, everybody has one, and knows how to use it. People will tell you whether they want you to call them if you ask them. It’s really important to find out how people want to communicate with you, but I definitely try to get them away from the phone and onto something with more features.
What’s important about the quality of the telephone is the interactive human contact, things like bulk mail-outs and advertising really fall into the category of spam, it’s just not helpful to people to be pushed something which they have to work to find what applies to their needs. They need to feel attended to on a personal level, to be understood.
What sucks about the phone is that it’s demanding, real-time. This is inconvenient. It also sucks that the phone only does poor quality audio into one ear, and the ringing alert is obnoxious. What is also utterly sucking about the phone is that it has no memory, you can’t go back over the discussion and learn or recall anything unless you record it or make notes.
The internet is basically a better telephone, the first electronic computer built by the UK government in 1942 to crack Nazi codes was in actual fact a modified telephone exchange. It was called colossus. They added important features: mathematical logic, and memory.
A computer in itself is a form of enhanced telephone network, and it uses a system of binary blips like the precursor to the telephone, the telegraph, morse code. Encoding makes it much less subject to quality degradation, and you can in theory encode whatever you want into a binary signal, it doesn’t have to be sound. It can remember things for later, it can transcode things (from binary into a picture, or a movie, 3D model, or a whatever), and it can even perform logical decision making. All of this makes it better than a telephone. Even SMS is cooler than a voice call if you ask me. On the rare occasions where I do use a voice call, I put it through the computer so I have my hands free to get on with my stuff, and keep notes. I can also record the conversation, which is handy.
The interesting thing about memory and logic is that this facilitates searching, people can go through various data pools and find what they need, so the whole thing is driven by the needs of the customer. It’s much better that way, more like a street of shops. Wander into a domain, and interact, but only if you want to. Look around and browse, window shop. Saves everybody a lot of hassle.

Any Amish on the way to Hershey Park from NJ?
We’re traveling from NJ to Hershey PA via Route 78W next week. Does anyone know if there is any Amish country or Amish attractions along this route? It would be nice if the kids could see some horse and buggies, farms, and maybe sample a little something at an Amish market before we dive into decadent and commercial Hershey Park. Can’t go much off our path though. Any tips would be appreciated!
If you take 78 W you would have to detour towards Reading to see Amish Country. But, what you can do is take I 95S to Bristol and pick up I 276W to I 76. When you reach Morgantown, or the junction of I 176 (which goes to Reading) head South for a few miles on Route 10. When you reach Route 322 head west. However, if you continue South on 10 you’ll reach route 30 W and see even more towns, with names like Intercourse, Paradise, Fertility, and Bird. Amish Country (or Pennsylvania Dutch country) is more or less bounded by Reading to the North, Lancaster to the West, Route 30 to the South and Coatesville to the East. It’s really beautiful countryside and the kids will love it. There’s even a working Amish Farm on Route 30 that’s open to the public, right off of route 30.

Always be thinking of your next move , even before you need it. That way you’ll be prepared no matter what happens. And you have to have a move for every possible scenario. If you can master this technique , you will make it in any form of sales and management. And of course . Always be learning . Read, Read, and Read more. Oh Yeah, Negative emotions. Harness them and make them work for you. If you fear starvation and forclosure. You’ll be more motivated to make more money. If someone cancels a contract or deal with you . be Nice to them until your off the phone. Then go smoke a cigarette and get as pissed as you want. After that go back in and get two new deals. works for me every time. I love a few cancellations. they make me rich.

How much should you budget for food, hotel, entertainment in Europe a day?
My Fiance and I are going to Europe in May for 46 days and I am unsure if $100 per person per day is enough for food, attractions and a hotel. Should we be higher..if so..how much higher. We will budget for a few nicer hotels and decent priced meals with eating at markets more often.
I would budget just a little more…$100 is less in Euro, and it depends on the city you’re going to, but I would say $150 a day will be just fine to have a great time in Europe, some days you won’t spend it all, others you’ll spend more, depends where you go. have fun!

What are the best things that Seattle (and Washington period) has to offer as far as life and employment?
I currently live in the state of Michigan, but i’m about to make the jump from here to Seattle, WA (Bremerton, actually). I just want to know what the state of Washington has to offer me. I got an offer from this company called TeleTech to stop in for an assessment when i hit the area so that’s a good thing. I’m tired of the rat race in Detroit. Everyone is doing the same thing as everybody else (looking for a good-paying job) and i know i got so much to give and to offer. (the economy sucks). So if there is anyone who lives in Washington, can you tell me about the night spots, coffee spots, tourist attractions any GREAT HIGH-PAYING JOBS, in Washington. I have three college degrees (two Business, one Science) and little experience. What is the Real Estate Market like there? Any good tips on living in Washington?
First and formost welcome to the great state of Washington and state unrivaled in its natural beauty and diversity. Just a quick lesson in geography though Bremerton is not exactly in the metro Seattle area it is on the Kitsap Pennisula. That being said you are a ferry boat ride away (30 minutes) or an hour drive away from Seattle. Bremerton is quickly transforming itself from a blue collar naval town to a livable and viable "suburb" of Seattle believe it or not. If you are into natural beauty and the outdoors Western Washington is the place for you. As far as cultural amenities, you will have to travel to Seattle for a variety of things to do or you can go to Olympia which is closer and a smaller version of Seattle and there is Tacoma which despite its reputation is rapidly improving and has things to visit and see. My advice to you is to go to your nearest book store and purchase a Western Washington handbook or Pacific Northwest handbook and check out all the sites that this region has to offer believe me its much more than rain and coffee. Also check out the Tacoma Tribune, Seattle times, and the Seattle pi.

Okay I have a lot of questions about my career?
My ultimate goal is to build a successful network marketing company that will pay residual income for me to retire on. Don’t tell me it won’t work and that mlm is a scam, because I KNOW I can succeed with the training I have and the people I know. Now, my plan to get there is to become a massage therapist (to support myself) by going to massage school and getting licensed in a state to begin practice. I will work as an employee for a year or so until I can build a clientele for my own practice. In the meantime, I will be finishing my GED and after about a year of working as a massage therapist I will focus on my Business major in Marketing so that I will be more effective in building my own practice. By the time I earn my degree, my earning power will rise, I will have learned the necessary skills from my major to create a successful private practice, and I will have enough money to support myself to live somewhere.
Now, the questions. What state would be best for me to move to, so I can attend a four year college to earn my bachelor’s degree, MEANWHILE, the first year attending an accredited massage school, then becoming license, then the next year in my GED, working to support myself, then beginning my own private practice, MEANWHILE, focusing on my major and learning valuable skills to help me not only building my clientele, but also building my network marketing downline, then when I earn my degree and earning power rises and I have my own practice, building my mlm business to eventually retire.
So the question is, what state would be BEST, for attending a massage school, meanwhile attending a good four year college to earn my Bachelor’s degree, has good job prospects for being a massage therapist, and a good location for this as well, and has a moderate or low cost of living, low enough to support myself in college and as a massage therapist and eventually self employed?
I know I have a lot of info here, but I want everyone to understand my plan EXACTLY, and point out any logistical flaws here that I may have missed in my limited amount of time I’ve researched this career. I’m not asking you to criticize my passions and dreams, I’m just looking for information, and valuable advice. Anything I should be concerned about? Can I support myself doing this?
By the way I am 16 and live in California, and my parents have a little money saved up for college, not much…
Matt, I’m sure you want honesty becoming a massage therapist in any state isn’t as lucrative financially especially being self- employed because there are Asian women and top notch spas, Massage Envy you’re competing against.My suggestion would be to focus on school at a junior college then transfer to a 4 university for cost- containment meanwhile work at a restaurant tips and base are feasible especially if you are supporting yourself or online school and get a really decent job by promoting people and things as a"hustler" through a PR job or phone rep sort of so you can build clientele for your promising. business
